Former NFL Star Darren Sharper accused of Rape

    Former NFL star Darren Sharper faces two counts of rape as an actor in Los Angeles , police said on Saturday .Sharper 38 , was arrested Friday afternoon by the Los Angeles Police Department 's sexual assault section of its robbery - homicide , according to LAPD spokesman Sally Madera .The Miami Beach , Florida , resident has been " linked to two sexual assaults in western Los Angeles " that allegedly occurred in October 2013 and this month , according to an LAPD news release .Sally said accusations of California Penal Code 261 ( a ) ( 30 ) . about involving rape " in which a person is prevented from intoxicating substances or refused by the anesthetic , or controlled substance , and this condition is known , or should have been known by the accused .Sharper was released from jail after posting a $ 200,000 bond before midnight Friday , said Madera . He had to appear before a judge on February 14 to the charges , according to county jail records .
